DIY Tic Tac Toe Tray

Image
Create this beautiful Tic Tac Toe Tray with just a few simple steps! You can watch the video here if you’d prefer:  https://youtu.be/-qzw_sKafy4 I started with this sign I found at my local thrift store because I thought it would be perfect for this project. You can use any sign or tray for this though! It had some wording on it so I sanded it down a little bit and then I gave it two coats of a deep brown acrylic paint. Once the brown paint was dry, I used a dollar store little pillar  candle and rubbed it along the edges and in random areas that I wanted to look chippy. I then painted over the entire board with two coats of white chalk paint. I let the paint dry and then used a little scrapper to go over the board. In the areas where I had rubbed the candle over, the paint chipped off and gave it an aged/worn look. Since my board was rectangular, I wanted to center my tic tac toe board and make all the sides the same length. I used a piece of paper and ruler to make a template for wh

DIY Vintage Grocery List

Supplies: Wood plaque/Board Wooden dowel Brown craft/packing paper roll Eye hooks J hooks Metal Ribbon or something to hold paper down Rub on transfers/stamps This “vintage” inspired grocery list is so easy to make and it’s super cute! If you’d like to watch the video tutorial instead, you can check it out on my YouTube here: https://youtu.be/-qzw_sKafy4 I started out with one of these wood plaques from the Dollar Tree plus section. You don’t have to get this exact plaque and most hobby/craft stores have cheap wood pieces you could use instead. Now, unfortunately I erased the footage of prepping my plaque sign piece, but all I did was paint it brown then do the white school glue chippy look with some white chalk paint on top. I let it dry to crackle a bit and then I used a paint scrapper to scrap some paint off to really give it an aged appearance. Here’s how it looked after it dried (and where my footage for this project starts lol) I pulled out some of my alphabet stamps (from Amazo

DIY Shabby Chic Sailboat

Image
This cute little shabby chic sailboat is quick and easy to make, but if you’d prefer to watch the full tutorial, you can check it out here on my YouTube: https://youtu.be/yvXBywNLh7M I started this little shabby sailboat with a scrap piece of 2x4 I had laying around. To cut the sides to look like a boat, I used my miter box hand saw (from Amazon). If you don’t have a miter box saw, you can find one on Amazon for a really affordable price or you can just leave your wood piece squared off and it’ll still look just as cute! You’ll also need a wood dowel for this project. Again, I buy mine in a large pack off of Amazon, but you can find these in any craft store. Just make sure it’s a thicker wood dowel because we’re going to screw into these later. I mixed up some paint for both pieces so I could get a gray/tan color. I used Apple barrel acrylic paints in the colors, warm buff, elephant gray, and burnt umber to get this exact color. I also kept my paintbrush damp while I painted them. Onc
